Recently, the 2026 “Light of the Sea” Academic Conference on Ophthalmic Optics and Visual Science, the 2026 Visual Science Technology and Equipment Exhibition, and the 14th “Myopia Care · Smile Forum” were successfully held in Shanghai. As one of the most influential annual events in China's ophthalmic optics field, this conference brought together domestic and international experts and scholars to conduct in-depth discussions on comprehensive visual health management throughout the entire life cycle. Together, they advanced myopia prevention and control efforts toward more scientific, precise, and personalized approaches.

Dr. Fu Chengbin, Director of the Department of Optometry and Pediatric Ophthalmology at Dongguan Aier Eye Hospital, was invited to attend this prestigious event. He actively participated in multiple academic exchange sessions, showcasing Dongguan Aier Eye Hospital's academic strength in the field of optometry and its commitment to actively contributing to the development of the industry.

Academic Excellence, Pioneering New Trends in Myopia Control At the highly anticipated “Optometry and Myopia Management” forum, Director Fu Chengbin presented a systematic analysis of a year-long clinical study titled “Real-World 12-Month Effectiveness Analysis of Dual-Effect Design Lenses Targeting Myopic Defocus and Higher-Order Aberrations.”

Based on the extensive practice of the Dongguan Aier Eye Hospital Optometry Team, this study thoroughly examined the comprehensive effects of dual-effect design lenses in both myopia control and visual quality optimization. Director Fu Chengbin emphasized that as myopia management enters an era of precision and personalization, clinical interventions must extend beyond the singular goal of “controlling myopia progression.” They must also prioritize patients' daily visual quality, ocular comfort, and long-term eye health. This forward-thinking approach aligns precisely with current trends in myopia prevention and control, resonating deeply with attending experts and scholars.

As the academic leader of the Optometry and Pediatric Ophthalmology Department at Aier Eye Hospital Dongguan, Director Fu Chengbin serves as a standing committee member of the Strabismus and Amblyopia Professional Committee of the Guangdong Optometry Society. a member of the Strabismus and Amblyopia Working Group of the 11th Committee of the Ophthalmology Branch of the Guangdong Medical Association, a member of the International Association of Orthokeratology Asia (IAOA), and the head of the Optometry and Ocular Muscle Specialty Working Group for Aier Eye Hospital in Guangdong Province. He shoulders significant responsibility for advancing the development of regional optometry and ophthalmology.

For over two decades, Director Fu Chengbin has remained dedicated to myopia prevention and control in children and adolescents, diagnosis and treatment of strabismus and amblyopia, and comprehensive optometric management. He has developed a precise and efficient approach to diagnosis and treatment. In his view, high-quality optometric services extend beyond correcting refractive errors; they involve precise interventions to enhance patients' visual quality and overall life experience. This philosophy permeates the daily work of the optometry team he leads at Dongguan Aier Eye Hospital.
