How to determine if ICL surgery is a good choice?

Basic conditions for ICL lens implantation

(1) Age: 18-50 years old. For older people, some degree adjustments need to be made according to the different requirements of patients for far-sighted and near-sighted vision.

(2) Degree: Correction range is myopia from 50 degrees to 1800 degrees, astigmatism from 50 degrees to 600 degrees.

If myopia exceeds 1800 degrees, it can also be corrected by EVO-ICL implantation surgery to correct 1800 degrees, and the remaining power can be worn with glasses or combined with corneal refractive surgery.

(3) The diopter power has been relatively stable in the past 2 years, and the diopter has changed within 100 degrees within 2 years.

(4) During the preoperative examination, if you usually wear contact lenses, you need to stop wearing them before surgery: ordinary soft contact lenses need to be stopped for 1 week, astigmatism soft lenses and hard lenses need to be stopped for more than 3 weeks, and orthokeratology lenses need to be stopped for more than 3 months.

(5) No organic disease in the eye, no active inflammation.

(6) Be in good health, free from serious illness, and be mentally healthy.

Preoperative examination and evaluation

In Dongguan Aier Eye Hospital, a full set of ICL surgery was performed with a total of 32 tests, which took 3-4 hours. Including slit lamp anterior segment examination, visual acuity examination, non-contact tonometer, computer refractor, etc.

Fundus examination and astigmatism require dilated pupils, try not to drive to the hospital alone, and it is best to wear sunglasses.

Custom ICL crystals

(1) After the preoperative examination is completed, the doctor will synthesize all the examination data, evaluate the crystal model, and customize the ICL lens.

(2) Simple myopia ICL lenses will take about a week to be sent to the hospital, and surgery can be arranged soon. Myopia combined with astigmatism TICL lenses may require a long wait.

Therefore, myopia surgery is not recommended for three months from pregnancy to the end of lactation.
