Recently, the 2026 "Maritime Light" Academic Conference on Optometry and Visual Science, the 2026 Visual Science Technology and Equipment Exhibition, and the 14th "Smile Forum for Myopia Care" were successfully held in Shanghai. As an annual event of great influence in the field of optometry in China, this conference brought together experts and scholars from home and abroad to conduct in-depth discussions on the full-cycle management of visual health, jointly promoting the advancement of myopia prevention and control towards a more scientific, precise and personalized direction.

Dr. Fu Chengbin, the director of the Optometry and Pediatric Ophthalmology Department of Dongguan Aier Eye Hospital, was invited to attend this grand event and actively participated in multiple academic exchange sessions, demonstrating the hospital's academic strength in the field of optometry and its responsibility in actively contributing to the industry's development.

Academic In-depth Research Leads the New Trend in Myopia Prevention and Control Image

At the highly anticipated "Optometry and Myopia Management" special forum, Director Fu Chengbin presented a systematic sharing of a one-year clinical research outcome under the title "12-Month Real-World Effect Analysis of Dual-Effect Design Lenses for Myopia Defocus and Higher-Order Aberration". This research, based on the rich practical experience of the optometry team at Dongguan Aier Eye Hospital, delved deeply into the comprehensive effects of dual-effect design lenses in myopia control and visual quality optimization.

Director Fu Chengbin proposed that as myopia management enters an era of precision and personalization, clinical intervention should not be limited to the single goal of "controlling the increase in myopia degree", but should also take into account the patient's daily visual quality, eye comfort and long-term eye health. This cutting-edge concept precisely aligns with the current development trend of myopia prevention and control, and has sparked widespread resonance among the experts and scholars present.

As the academic leader of the Ophthalmic Optics and Pediatric Eye Disease Department of Dongguan Aier Eye Hospital, Director Fu Chengbin serves as the standing committee member of the Strabismus and Amblyopia Professional Committee of the Guangdong Optometry Society, a member of the Strabismus and Amblyopia Group of the 11th Committee of the Ophthalmology Branch of the Guangdong Medical Association, a member of the International Orthokeratology Association Asia (IAOA), and the group leader of the Guangdong Province Area Ophthalmic Optics and Eye Muscle Professional Group of Aier Eye Hospital, among other positions. He shoulders the significant responsibility of promoting the development of the regional ophthalmic optics discipline.

For over two decades, Director Fu Chengbin has been dedicated to the prevention and control of myopia in children and adolescents, the diagnosis and treatment of strabismus and amblyopia, and comprehensive optometry management. He has developed a precise and efficient diagnostic and treatment approach. In his view, high-quality optometry services are not only about correcting refractive problems but also about enhancing patients' visual quality and life experience through precise intervention. This philosophy is reflected in the daily work of the optometry team he leads at Dongguan Aier Eye Hospital.
