Aid to Xinjiang
In November 2018, Dongguan Aier Eye Hospital organized experts to go to southern Xinjiang for the first time to carry out public welfare cataract vision restoration surgery. After five years, in October 2023, the Dongguan Aier Ophthalmology Aid Xinjiang Restoration Team (including Guangzhou and Humen campuses) arrived in Tumshuk City, Xinjiang again and officially launched the three-year Xinjiang Restoration Project. They are full of enthusiasm to aid Xinjiang, forge ahead, and work hard, bringing not only free vision restoration surgery to the Tushi area, but also advanced medical technology. In order to focus on showing the pioneering style of party members aiding Xinjiang, the "Dongguan Medical Aid to Xinjiang" series is specially launched, and this issue introduces the story of Huang Hehua, director of the inpatient department of Dongguan Aier Eye Hospital. The medical team for Xinjiang restoration was led by Liu Fei, secretary of the party branch and general president of Dongguan Aier Eye Hospital, to carry out the work of aiding Xinjiang to restore the vision of Xinjiang, including Huang Hehua, a party member doctor.

He has been practicing medicine for 11 years, from a "whole eye disease" doctor to a rotation doctor in the cataract department and fundus disease, and officially became the director of the inpatient department and fundus doctor in 2021.
"I am very honored and excited when I received the task of aiding Xinjiang, and I sincerely believe that it is an unshirkable responsibility to help border hospitals improve their professional level in the professional field." Guided by the benevolence of doctors, he crossed thousands of rivers and mountains, and did a good job as a "transmitter" in terms of professional technology, bringing the hospital's innovative and leading medical technology and the whole process service concept of inpatient services to southern Xinjiang without reservation.
"Treat every clinical visit as the first visit"
Detailed examination and diagnosis→ medical history collection→ specialized examinations→ basic examinations, fundus examinations, etc.→ doctors evaluate the examination results→ condition analysis→ and measure the "eye" customized surgical plan→ preoperative education→ surgery→ postoperative examination→ postoperative education
This is a set of patient hospitalization management processes implemented by Huang Hehua in Dongguan Aier Eye Hospital. Over the years, although Huang Hehua has formed a refined process for every detail of the inpatient department's rounds, he still retains the awe of visiting inpatients for the first time.

"Every patient, regardless of whether the condition is mild or severe, I will be cautious and not allow any mistakes." Huang Hehua said frankly that it is precisely because he has always maintained the awe of every patient and respect for the profession that everyone has praised the doctor's wonderful hand for rejuvenation and gaining light.
"Bringing Dongguan's professional technology to southern Xinjiang"
The far west, the mysterious Xinjiang, is full of exotic customs. However, for Director Huang Hehua, who participated in Xinjiang for the first time, this is a place full of challenges and difficulties: lack of medical resources, poor equipment, acclimatization of personnel, language communication barriers, etc. limit the efficient work of the medical team.
As a party member, he is well aware of the mission and responsibility of his trip, and after a short break, Huang Hehua quickly entered the working state, conducting preoperative and postoperative examinations for every cataract patient with rigorous full-process medical services to ensure that each patient achieves the best treatment effect.

Huang Hehua found that the demand for cataract surgery in local hospitals is very large, and the hospital equipment and technical strength are relatively weak.
Therefore, the first batch of members of the medical team to aid Xinjiang decided to give full play to their professional advantages and cooperate with the operation to restore vision efficiently and orderly: President Liu Fei was responsible for the operation, and Director Huang Hehua undertook a series of ward management work such as patient admission, screening registration, postoperative review, and discharge.
Before and after surgery, ensure that every step is accurate, and bring the belief of "perfectionist" and "speed runner" to the "Division City General Hospital", and in more than half a month, the first batch of medical team members to aid Xinjiang has performed free vision restoration surgery for 200 cataract patients in Tumushuk City, the Third Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.

From "blood transfusion" to "hematopoiesis", Huang Hehua realized that "not only to think about what we can do, but more importantly, what we can leave behind."
As a rigorous fundologist, during the aid to Xinjiang, Huang Hehua insisted on a routine examination of the clinical ward once a day. From time to time, he also conducts clinical teaching in the form of case discussion, case analysis, postoperative education and other forms of case discussion, case analysis, and postoperative education with the bed doctor in the inpatient department, and passes on his full set of processes to every medical care. In his spare time, he collects relevant information and sends it to local doctors, and uses his spare time to guide the difficulties encountered in recent consultations and ward rounds.
With his help, the number and quality of cataract surgeries in local hospitals have improved significantly. More and more patients have received timely and effective treatment, and the medical professional technology and ward management concept have been left behind through words and deeds, and the "Dongguan experience" has been recognized and praised by local doctors and patients.

"Aiding Xinjiang is the original intention, but also the mission and responsibility"
"I haven't seen my sheep baby clearly for several years, and I will definitely count it when I go home tomorrow...... "It's really beautiful to be able to see things. "Every patient will say a string of words that Huang Hehua cannot understand, and after these simple words are translated into Mandarin one by one, they are the most precious praise for him.
As an ophthalmologist, witnessing the joy of patients regaining their light has become the source of motivation on the road to medicine. "Many patients come in wheelchairs and groping with crutches. After the operation, the gauze is removed and they can walk on their own. I find it very rewarding to work that brings light back to patients. ”
Huang Hehua said that participating in aid to Xinjiang is not only an organizational arrangement, but also a personal pursuit. "As a party member and a medical worker, it is a rare opportunity to participate in such a great project, and it is my supreme honor to contribute to the health cause of the frontier!" Huang Hehua, who returned to Dongguan after ending his aid to Xinjiang, better understood the mission and responsibility of aiding Xinjiang, and also strengthened his belief in practicing medicine. He said that as long as the organization needs it and the people need it, he will continue to sign up for the next batch of aid to Xinjiang and restore the Ming Dynasty.
