Dongguan Medical Aid Xinjiang Jiangji
In November 2018, Dongguan Aier Eye Hospital organized experts to go to southern Xinjiang for the first time to carry out public welfare cataract vision restoration surgery. After five years, in October 2023, the Dongguan Aier Ophthalmology Aid Xinjiang Restoration Team arrived in Tumushuk City, Xinjiang again thousands of miles away, and officially launched the three-year Xinjiang Restoration Project. They are full of enthusiasm to aid Xinjiang, forge ahead, and work hard, bringing not only free vision restoration surgery to the Tushi area, but also advanced medical technology. In order to focus on the pioneering style of party members and doctors aiding Xinjiang, the first issue of the "Dongguan Medical Aid to Xinjiang" series of reports was launched to introduce the story of party member doctors, President Liu Fei, to aid Xinjiang.

"Now I can see it again, thank you to the party and the government for thinking about us, and thank you to the experts in Dongguan for letting me kneel down and kowtow to me!" Lu Lao, who regained his light after cataract restoration surgery, excitedly held the hand of Liu Fei, secretary of the party branch and general president of Dongguan Aier Eye Hospital, leader of the Dongguan medical team to aid Xinjiang. Dean Liu Fei responded emotionally, "You are serious, we should thank you for contributing to the construction of Xinjiang for a lifetime......
Touching scenes of deep love between doctors and patients and mutual healing appeared in the Tumushuk Campus of the General Hospital of the Third Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (hereinafter referred to as the "Division City General Hospital"), and when talking about the scene at that time, President Liu Fei was still moved and choked. Lu Lao is a veteran who went to Xinjiang in 1958 to support, and he is also one of the patients served by the Dongguan Aid Xinjiang Restoration Medical Team. After Dean Liu Fei and the medical staff operated on him, Lu Lao's eyes could finally see clearly again.

Dean Liu Fei examined and designed surgical plans for patients who rushed to seek medical treatment
This time, Dongguan aided Xinjiang to restore the Ming Medical Tour, and there are many patients like Lu Lao who have regained their light. A 77-year-old Uyghur patient, when he learned that the Dongguan Xinjiang Restoration Medical Team was going to come to Tumushuk City, he and his family drove for 3 hours to do surgery, and the second day after the operation, when Dean Liu Fei asked him how his eyes felt, the patient couldn't help but burst into tears, and his excitement was self-evident.
Respond to the call to restart the journey
The National Health System Aid to Xinjiang Work Conference has just ended, and Dongguan Medical Aid to Xinjiang has taken another important step.
Since the launch of a new round of counterpart aid to Xinjiang in July this year, under the guidance and support of the Dongguan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, Dongguan Municipal Health Bureau, Dongguan Disabled Persons' Federation, Dongguan Disabled Persons' Welfare Foundation, and Guangdong Aid to Xinjiang Third Division Task Force, Dongguan Aier Eye Hospital quickly responded to the call, and on October 12, the launching ceremony of the "Dongguan Aid Xinjiang Restoration Project" was held in Dongguan Aier Eye Hospital. Luo Zhifeng, director of the Party Building Service Center of the Two New Organizations in Dongcheng Street, Wang Haibo, director of the Party Building Service Center of the Two New Organizations in Humen Town, and other leaders attended the departure ceremony.

At the launching ceremony, Song Hongnan, a third-level researcher of the Dongguan Municipal Health Bureau, presented the project team flag to President Liu Fei. Subsequently, Liu Fei, secretary of the party branch and general president of the hospital, led 5 medical staff (including 3 party members) to Tumushuk City, Xinjiang to carry out the work of aiding Xinjiang and restoring the Ming Dynasty. The project will continue for 3 years, during which Aier Eye Hospital will send a medical volunteer service team to the "Shishi General Hospital" for medical assistance every year.

This is not the first time that President Liu Fei has led a team to aid Xinjiang to restore the Ming medical project. In 2018, Dean Liu Fei led a medical volunteer team to aid Xinjiang, and only 24 eyesight restoration surgeries were completed due to many conditions. After five years, he set off again with the Dongguan Aier medical team to aid Xinjiang and restore the Ming Dynasty.
Lead the team to aid Xinjiang and go thousands of miles
From the east bank of the Pearl River to the northwest edge of the Taklamakan Desert, the distance is more than 5,000 kilometers, and it takes nearly 7 hours to fly. In Xinjiang, the medical team faced three major hurdles: climate, diet and language, and was unable to carry out large-scale surgeries. But since you have chosen to support, you must not hesitate. In order to restore the light of more cataract patients in the local area, President Liu Fei and the medical team raced against time in the operating room of Shishi General Hospital, striving to complete as many surgeries as possible in limited conditions and time.
In half a month, the Dongguan medical team completed more than 200 cataract restoration surgeries, which had a great impact on the local medical situation. "At first, due to some conditions, the progress of the operation was very slow, but it gradually became smooth in the next few days. I believe that in the next two years, the medical project to restore Ming in Xinjiang will be completed more smoothly and benefit more local residents! Dean Liu Fei said.

In the past, Tumushuk citizens had to spend at least 3-4 hours to go to Kashgar and other places with relatively good medical conditions to undergo surgery, and they had to sell a few sheep to afford the cost of the operation. After the launch of the Restoration Medical Project, they do not need to travel far or spend money, and they can have surgery near their homes.
Speaking of the profound experience of the Xinjiang Restoration Tour, President Liu Fei recalled: "The most impressive thing was that there was a patient who was supported by his family to the hospital, and the cataract was completely blind, and the day after the operation, the patient could get out of bed and walk by himself. This touches me deeply, and the joy of patients being able to see the world again is the purpose of our visit. ”
The medical heart is dedicated to the party to aid Xinjiang
During the aid to Xinjiang, President Liu Fei found that there was a large demand for ophthalmology in the local area, and patients urgently needed eye restoration, but there were very few doctors in the hospital who could perform cataract surgery and other eye fine surgeries. What is needed here is not only to bring medical volunteer services, but also to "medical teams that cannot be taken away". He believes that "it is better to teach people to fish than to teach people to fish", so every year, the medical volunteer team comes to support the Xinjiang Fuming Medical Tour, and will also assist the "Shishi General Hospital" to build a professional ophthalmic medical team to better solve the problem of local ophthalmology medical needs.

"As a party member and doctor, we must respond to the government's call to go to the places where the motherland needs it most, serve the people in remote areas, and provide high-quality medical technology." In the medical project to restore the Ming in Xinjiang, President Liu Fei has always adhered to this purpose, "I hope that young doctors can cherish the current superior conditions, actively participate in volunteer service when necessary, and shoulder the glorious mission of counterpart medical assistance." He believes that after "solving the problem of food and clothing", the current hospital should give full play to the vanguard and exemplary role of party members, repay the society, and use its own technology to bring hope for the restoration of vision to those who need it more.
