DATE:2024-11-29   HITS:649

It's winter~

The temperature gradually drops

Dongguan is going to freeze... Freeze... Freeze...

Wake up with down and sweaters

And our body is like entering a special "test period". For glaucoma patients, the cold weather is not just about adding clothes, it is more like an early warning sign, and our eyes are also facing some special challenges.

What is the relationship between glaucoma and cold weather?

When the environmental changes are more obvious, such as temperature changes, insufficient sunlight, dimming light, etc., sympathetic nervous system excitement, may cause dilated pupils, resulting in the blockage of the drainage channel in the eyes, after blockage, intraocular pressure may rise, after the ocular pressure rises, some patients will have some obvious symptoms of acute glaucoma attack, eye redness, eye pain, blurred vision, etc., some patients may have some symptoms of nausea and vomiting. After this happens, we recommend that patients go to the hospital in time to control intraocular pressure in time.

Director Huashan of Dongguan Aier Ophthalmology Glaucoma Ophthalmology reminded that high-risk groups such as those with a family history of glaucoma, farsightedness, high myopia, hypertension and diabetes, and the elderly should strengthen intraocular pressure monitoring, do a good job of prevention in advance, and do the following things in daily life to reduce the risk of disease.

First of all, you should maintain a good attitude, don't be too excited, and don't fluctuate emotionally; Secondly, don't overwork, don't read for a long time, don't stay in a dark environment for a long time, and don't stay up late.

Another thing is not to drink a lot of water at one time, especially not strong tea and coffee, and to control the water within 300 ml at a time. Because of drinking a lot of water, aqueous humor is produced more, and the drainage is still in the original drainage, which may cause an increase in intraocular pressure. You can do some aerobic exercise, such as Tai Chi and Baduanjin activities, which can promote local circulation and have a more peaceful mentality, which can prevent glaucoma.

How to prevent glaucoma in cold weather?

People with a history of hypertension, diabetes, etc., should pay attention to controlling blood pressure and blood sugar during the cooling season to avoid glaucoma induced by abnormal retinal blood vessel morphology or blockage.

Patients with diabetes, hypertension, people over 40 years old with a family history of glaucoma, high myopia, once there are symptoms such as nausea, dizziness and discomfort, swelling and pain in both eyes, must consider the possibility of glaucoma and seek medical attention in time.

Pay attention to keeping warm and reduce unnecessary outings, especially the elderly with a history of glaucoma, and should avoid going from warm indoors to outdoors immediately.
