He earned his bachelor’s degree in clinical medicine from the former First Military Medical University and has dedicated 30 years to frontline clinical practice in ophthalmology. He previously served as the director of the ophthalmology department at a general hospital for an extended period, having performed over 30,000 cataract surgeries of various types. He pioneered the distinctive “double-hook nucleus extraction” technique for cataract surgery, and his research paper was published in the official journal of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (JCRS). He holds a leading position in the field of small-incision cataract surgery in China. He has organized the “Deng Jiangwen Double-Hook Technique Training Course” on multiple occasions and enjoys a strong reputation within the domestic ophthalmology community, particularly among young and middle-aged ophthalmologists. He has accumulated extensive experience in treating common ophthalmic conditions such as glaucoma, pterygium, and diseases of the ocular surface and retina. He has been awarded one collective Third-Class Merit and one individual Third-Class Merit, and has received the title of “Advanced Individual in Supporting and Assisting Persons with Disabilities” in Hunan Province. He was also featured as an expert in an exclusive interview on the CCTV program “Military Life.”
